Self-proclaimed “bad bitch” activist artist, Marilyn Minter has had one hell of a year. Fresh from touring her retrospective around the US to Texas and California, her exhibition Pretty/Dirty culminates at home in New York, at its final stop at the Brooklyn Museum.
For four decades Minter has shaken up the art world and become known for her hyperrealistic portrayal of the excesses of glamour, decadence, and sexuality. Her artworks look at the superficialities of fashion and beauty culture through a sociological lens - taking a deeper dive into aesthetics.
